The LongHu Wetlands site between Dalian and Lvshunkou is on the western edge of undisturbed mountain terrain that is being encroached upon by urban development. The LongHu plan responds to both requirements – it adds Green-tech development along the road connecting Lvshunkou to the Highway 15 corridor, and proposes a development program that establishes an ‘eco-edge’ that is designed to protect the wilderness against further encroachment.
Ocean-view estate homes preserve the wooded slopes on the southern edge where the site engages existing development, and the Dagu Hill Hamlet, a Lakeside Village, and the Lakeview Resort Hotel and Spa on the north shore are clustered around Xiaogu Reservoir. The village provides dining, shopping, bars, nightclubs and boat clubs, and is connected to the Xiao Gu Hill Resort Hamlet by hiking and riding trails in the public green corridor, or via one of the new internal country roads. The new roads are carefully threaded through the woodlands, and also connect the rest of the community to the coastal wetlands where eco-tourists can enjoy the public park and stay at the ocean view Hotel.
The new Green-tech corridor that bisects the Site and links Lvshunkou to the Highway 15 is anchored by a Hotel, Convention Center and Town Center that will serve the sub-region, as wellas the adjacent new LongHu Golf Community.
